The Los Angeles Lakers are champions of the world. The Lakers bested the Miami Heat in six games in the NBA Finals to cap off what was a dominant NBA Playoffs run. While some want to say there is an asterisk involved, this was undoubtedly the toughest NBA Championship that was ever won.
This was a long time coming for Laker fans. Yes, it has only been 10 years since the Lakers last once the NBA Championship but that is an eternity for a franchise that has put together dynasty after dynasty with superstar after superstar.
The Lakers are not in the business for one championship, they are in the business of sustaIned success and creating new dynasties. That is the Laker way, so even though they still have the taste of champagne lingering on their tongues, we all know that the Lakers are hungry to make it two in a row.
While this Lakers team was fantastic and exceeded everyone’s expectations, there is absolutely room for improvement. And if you are not getting better in the NBA year-to-year then you are getting worse.
A trade seems like the most likely outcome and there are several reasons why we can expect a significant trade by the Lakers this offseason. It won’t be an Anthony Davis-level trade, but it will be one that brings a new third-best player into the fold and primes the Lakers to win a second-straight title.
