The Los Angeles Lakers trade rumors surrounding Derrick Rose are picking up steam again.

Derrick Rose has serious trade ties to the Los Angeles Lakers during the NBA Trade Deadline, which seemed like it happened an eternity ago. Now, after a four-month league hiatus, a unique bubble at Disney World and an NBA Championship for the Lakers, Rose is yet again tied to the team.

One league executive told Sean Deveney of Heavy.com that the Lakers are and Pistons are much more likely now to make a trade for Rose happen then they were earlier this calendar year. Rose only has one more year under contract and the Lakers do not have the buyout market to fallback on.

Rose would certainly be a fit on the Los Angeles Lakers and would be a tremendous asset for the team. He could essentially slot into Rajon Rondo’s role on the team and be even better than Rondo was, even if Rondo was great in the playoffs.

If Rondo stays after his tremendous NBA Playoffs then adding Rose would be a tad redundant. However, Rondo reportedly is going to test the free agent market, opening the door for the Lakers to simply make the upgrade.

The Lakers do not have a lot of pieces to trade, but they do have enough to go down several different routes for a potential Rose trade.
