The Los Angeles Lakers could look to add shooters in free agency.

The Los Angeles Lakers are not a three-point shooting team at heart but they did have the pieces to hit the shots when they needed to last season — that is why they won the NBA Championship.

The Lakers may have to look for more shooters in the offseason, though, to improve their chances of winning another NBA Championship. Kentavious Caldwell-Pope and Rajon Rondo will both reportedly opt-out of their deals and there is always the chance of the team committing to a Danny Green trade.

It might not be the team’s bread and butter but they still have to have shooters on the roster to be successful. That is without a doubt.

With not that much cap space to spare, here are five sharpshooting free agents the Lakers could realistically target this offseason.

1. Kyle Korver

Kyle Korver is one of the sweetest shooting role players of all-time and he is a former LeBron James teammate. While he was on a contending team last season in the Milwaukee Bucks, maybe it is time for Korver to embrace the LA lifestyle and come play with LeBron James again.

At this point in his career, Korver is not going to have a massive role on any team he goes to. He is going to be a guy that comes off the bench for 10-15 minutes a game and hits a few open three-point shots.

He is still more than capable of being a difference-maker in the playoffs, especially playing alongside James, who is the best in the NBA in getting shooters involved around him.

Korver is not going to get more than the veteran minimum this offseason and it makes perfect sense for the Lakers to pursue him to fill out the depth without sacrificing any cap space.
