Dwight Howard: Los Angeles Lakers

Who would have thought that Dwight Howard would come back to the Los Angeles Lakers, buy into having a lesser role on the team, end up being the exact opposite of a locker room distraction and win his first NBA Championship in purple and gold?

Even with all of the off-court distractions in his career, Howard is absolutely a Hall of Famer. Winning a championship with the Lakers cements that fact and it was very heartwarming to see just how joyous he was to finally reach the mountaintop.

With that being said, it is hard to see Howard signing elsewhere this offseason. There will be some contending teams that are suitors that were not suitors for him last offseason but he has found a great home with the Lakers and there is no reason for him to leave.

He is a better option than JaVale McGee and Howard would still be a valuable bench player during the regular season even if the team brought back DeMarcus Cousins.

Howard is not going to get more than the veteran minimum this offseason and he has earned a new contract with the Los Angeles Lakers. It genuinely seems like he meshes perfectly with this group and his veteran insight would still be big next season.
