Trade Scenario Number 4:

The main part of this trade would be getting Ricky Rubio. You can choose to just get him in the deal, but why not try for Cheick Diallo who has shown potential but has had limited opportunities? You still save $104k on the cap space.

With Rubio, the Lakers get a pass-first veteran point guard that has made a great career off assists. He does have a little scoring ability but his vision is what makes this intriguing for the Lakers.

He will have shooters and two superstars in LeBron and AD on the floor with him. His IQ is built for this and even in a smaller role, 10+ assists is easily obtainable for him.

The Suns are an interesting team, one that hasn’t competed for anything in a long time. But also a team that went 8-0 in the NBA bubble league. What direction will they look to go in heading forward?

In this deal, they get a shooter in Danny Green that could space their floor. They also get more assets in the first-round pick that they can choose to hold onto or trade. Then you get a young player in Kuzma to add to the Devin Booker and DeAndre Ayton duo.

Diallo coming back to the Lakers gives them a smaller and more athletic center that they can use for spot minutes. With the league moving to smaller lineups he could play well in a small role. He shoots 60% from the field for his career and 78% from the free-throw line.
