Lakers cards worth collecting: Eddie Jones rookie card

First thing that comes to mind when I think of Eddie Jones is the Miami Heat, but he played four and a half seasons with the Lakers before the Lakers traded for Glen Rice. Two of his three All-Star appearances came with the Lakers, and he was named to the All-Rookie team in his debut season.

Here’s a look at a bunch of Eddie Jones rookie cards that have recently sold. Many of them go for just a few dollars. Even graded cards of his can often be found for less than $50.

It’s not a card to collect that will rock anyone’s socks off, but it can be a decent part of a larger Lakers collection, for sure.

Lakers cards worth collecting: Nick Van Exel rookie card

Nick Van Exel rookie cards will be a solid dose of nostalgia for Lakers fans. Van Exel, who spent his first five years with the Lakers and was named an All-Star in his final year with the team, represents an era where the franchise just wasn’t getting it done.

Kobe Bryant had yet to be drafted, and while Van Exel and the Lakers were still making the playoffs, going as deep as the Western Conference Finals in his final year, they weren’t meeting the championship expectation that is always bestowed upon the team.

All said and done, Van Exel is third in 3-point field goals and 10th in assists, and fourth in assists per game (7.3) on Lakers leaderboards. He was a regular double-digit scorer for the Lakers.

Nick Van Exel rookie card: Here is what is currently available on eBay

His most iconic rookie card is the Topps Finest card, which can be found ungraded for as cheap as a dollar, with more sought-after parallels going for higher prices (the Refractor recently went for nearly $50).

His SkyBox and NBA Hoops card can be found for even cheaper in some cases.

A bit more premium is his Upper Deck Rookie Standouts card.

There are a wide array of options out there when it comes to Nick Van Exel rookie cards for collectors to go after, and while he’s not one of the championship-winning legends, he is one of the better Lakers draft picks in the last few decades.
