There are some spooky offseason targets that the Los Angeles Lakers should avoid this offseason at all costs.

Happy Halloween! We decided — in honor of the spookiest day of the year — to dedicate an entire offseason article for this festive day. Don’t worry, though: the analysis in this article is still valid in the month of November and beyond, you just are missing out on the festive part.

The Los Angeles Lakers are less than a month removed from winning championship no. 17 over the Miami Heat and the entire focus has been turned to the offseason. The Lakers are interested in creating dynasties, not creating one-off champions and to do so the team will have to push the right buttons in the offseason.

There are potential targets, such as Victor Oladipo, that we have outlined that would be perfect for the Lakers. However, there are also potential holes that Rob Pelinka may have to fill with both Rajon Rondo and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope testing the free-agent market.

The league is going to get better, especially with both the Golden State Warriors and Brooklyn Nets getting healthy. If the Lakers are not getting better this offseason then they are getting worse, simple as that.

However, certain targets that would seemingly make the Los Angeles Lakers better would do the complete opposite. These targets are scary and should be avoided at all costs. Shoutout to our FanSided sister site, Hardwood Houdini, for giving us this idea.

Let’s get into it, shall we?
