Jrue Holiday could be traded this offseason and the Los Angeles Lakers would be an interesting fit.

The Los Angeles Lakers are not going to look the same heading into next season as they were when they hoisted the Larry O’Brien Trophy less than a month ago. If you are not getting better in the NBA then you are getting worse and the Lakers are concerned with building dynasties, not one-year title-winners.

There are a lot of moving parts around the Los Angeles Lakers with an offseason that is going to expedited. Rob Pelinka and co. are already undoubtedly mapping out their plan for what the offseason will look like and there are so many possibilities.

Derrick Rose, Victor Oladipo and Chris Paul have all been brought up in the NBA rumor mill as potential fits for the Lakers. Then there are free agents, such as Danilo Gallinari, who are perfect mid-level exception targets for the team.

One name that has not been brought up much is Jrue Holiday. There are small rumblings that a Holiday trade could happen this offseason, with many believing that either he or Lonzo Ball will get dealt.

Personally, I think it is more valuable for the Pelicans to hang onto the younger asset and trade one guaranteed year of Holiday instead. But hey, maybe they have a different M-O.

Regardless, if the New Orleans Pelicans are indeed shopping Jrue Holiday then the Los Angeles Lakers should be on the phone trying to make business happen with the team that sent them Anthony Davis.

Here is why Holiday is such a good fit in LA and what a potential trade could look like.
