1. Jrue Holiday is a style dream to be the third star of the Los Angeles Lakers

When we talk about the Los Angeles Lakers landing a third star for the 2020 season we are mostly talking about someone who can slot in as that third star without a problem. There are potential bigger plans for the future, but right now, the Lakers really should focus on the tier of Holiday-level players to be the third star for next season.

Holiday is a borderline all-star-caliber player and is the perfect level of player to be the third option behind LeBron James and Anthony Davis and his playstyle would fit perfectly in Los Angeles.

First of all, Holiday is a really solid defender and we know that the Lakers pride themselves on playing good defense. Frank Vogel is one of the best defensive head coaches in the league and he would make Holiday an even better defender with the way that he would implement him.

However, he is also a playmaker. He is someone who can take the ball up court for the Lakers when LeBron James is on the bench and has already developed a chemistry with Anthony Davis. This allows the Lakers so much flexibility in resting LeBron more during the regular season and not giving up as much on the offensive end.

He can make hit shots as an off-ball shooter when needed and he can drive to the rim and kick out to the wings. He might not be the best three-point shooting guard but the Lakers have shown that heavy three-point shooting is not the team’s M-O, anyway.
