The Los Angeles Lakers currently have the 28th overall pick in the 2020 NBA Draft.

The next focus for the Los Angeles Lakers and the rest of the NBA is the 2020 NBA Draft. This draft is unlike any other draft in league history as it will be done virtually and is taking place in November instead of its usual slot in the summer.

It has been quite a while since we have seen these draft prospects in action and there might be more volatility in this year’s draft class than any other recent year.

There certainly is less hype. Recent drafts included big-name stars such as Zion Williamson and Luka Doncic. This year, the biggest household name in the draft is LaMelo Ball.

For that reason, not many Laker fans might even be looking forward to the 2020 NBA Draft and I cannot blame you if you aren’t. After spending most of the decade in the lottery, it is nice to pick this late in the first round with the team’s actual pick, fresh off of a championship.

However, if you are a frequent reader here at Lake Show Life, you know that there are legitimate reasons for the Los Angeles Lakers to trade into the lottery this year. Our very own Daniel Preciado broke down the reasoning here.

To take it one step further, I have circled two potential lottery landing spots for the Los Angeles Lakers and what it would take for the team to trade up to each position.
