Should the Los Angeles Lakers pursue Jrue Holiday or Victor Oladipo?

The final verdict: Jrue Holiday should be a bigger priority for the Los Angeles Lakers

Both Oladipo and Holiday are great players and Laker fans should be extremely happy if the team manages to get either of these former all-stars. They both would be fantastic additions to the roster and would solidify the Lakers as the favorites heading into next season.

However, if the Lakers have to prioritize one player over the other then it should be Jrue Holiday, mostly for that last external factor — health.

Oladipo simply has not been healthy the last two years and the Lakers trading assets for someone who a) has not played much the last two seasons and b) was not good when he did play last season is not a wise move.

Oladipo absolutely does have a higher ceiling. He is a better defender when he is at his best and he is a better all-around scorer than Holiday, again, when he is at his best.

But because Holiday is more reliable and can also help the team fill in at the point guard position, he has to become the obvious priority for the Lakers over someone such as Oladipo.

But, because of that reliability, perhaps the trade price for Holiday is higher than Oladipo and is one that the Los Angeles Lakers cannot match. Either way, if the Lakers got one of these two players they would be in good shape.
