The Los Angeles Lakers may sign some ring chasers for their locker room presence alone.

The Los Angeles Lakers are the defending NBA Champions and are an enticing destination for any free agent as they would get the chance to contend for a championship alongside LeBron James. In being a contender with LeBron James, the Lakers naturally will attract ring chasers in free agency.

These are not players that are going to make any real difference on the team but they are always a part of every contending team. The Lakers’ ring chaser this past season was Jared Dudley. He got very little regular-season playing time, did not play in the NBA Playoffs but is still a champion.

Instead, these players are brought in for their veteran presence in the locker room as well as the emergency option of needing them for depth in the regular season.

So beware: the three players listed on this article are not players who are going to make any significant difference, but they are fun potential targets that could win a championship in LA.

1. Jamal Crawford

Jamal Crawford finally got a chance to play last season in the NBA bubble for the Brooklyn Nets after not being signed all season. Crawford only played one game, putting in six minutes with five points.

Crawford is not the player he once was, even if he dropped 51 points two seasons ago. He is old, he is not as athletic and he does not move the needle at all.

However, he has seen a lot in this league and could be a great veteran guard to help the development of Talen Horton-Tucker, especially with the possibility of Rajon Rondo leaving the team this season.

Crawford has never won an NBA Championship and would absolutely jump at the idea of signing with the Lakers on a veteran minimum contract for his chance to add a championship ring to his trophy case.
