2. Leandro Bolmaro

  • Tankathon big board ranking: 27th
  • ESPN big board ranking: 22nd

There is more variance on the big boards with Leandro Bolmaro. Tankathon has Bolmaro ranked as the 27th prospect in this draft while ESPN is a bit higher on him, ranking him two spots higher than Maledon.

In fact, NBC Sports has the Los Angeles Lakers taking Bolmaro in their latest NBA mock draft. If you are a frequent reader of Lake Show Life then you know that Bolmaro is one “scary” potential offseason target that we stated the Lakers should stay away from.

Whereas you can see the potential there with Maledon, there just is not as much to see thus far with Bolmaro. There are more questions than there are answers around his game and if the Lakers are going to take a project they should take someone with more upside as a multi-dimensional player.

He is an intriguing pick with size to play the point guard position in the future. He certainly has the ball-handling to be a successful point guard in the future and has the size and length to blossom into a good defender.

But again, with him, it is just potential on paper. There is not as much legitimate film to go off of as there is with Maledon.

I would personally stay away from a prospect Bolmaro and would instead target someone with three-plus years of college experience. If the Los Angeles Lakers are going to go the international route, Maledon is the better choice.
