Russell Westbrook wants out of Houston. Could he end up on the Los Angeles Lakers?

The Los Angeles Lakers are enjoying what is left of their incredibly short off-season.

LeBron James, Alex Caruso, Anthony Davis, Kyle Kuzma, and co. all deserve a long rest after what is considered the longest season in NBA History.

With the league season due to start next month, it is looking very likely that the rest which they need won’t be available to them.

With the vast majority of teams that were not in the bubble such as the Golden State Warriors, they will have over 200+days off between their seasons ending and the start of the new season while the Miami Heat and Los Angeles Lakers will have less than 80 days to rest, compose themselves and go in search of another title.

Ideally, the Los Angeles Lakers could use some added help in order to allow the likes of LeBron James and Anthony Davis to get further rest even whilst the season has started.

According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, one such player has just become available.

A player of Russell Westbrook’s caliber does not become available every day and especially not for a price that would be considered cents on the dollar.

Should the Los Angeles Lakers make a move for Russell Westbrook?

Do they even have the necessary pieces to get a deal done?

Let’s find out.
