Conclusion

The Los Angeles Lakers can look back on their season and be extremely proud of what they have accomplished.

They won a championship when few outside of the Lakers community thought they would.

They banded together when Kobe and Gianna Bryant passed away and were there for each other during that incredibly difficult time.

They stayed focused and grew even more as a team during the NBA bubble, one of the most trying situations in NBA playoff history and they were able to win a ring.

They overcame all season and deserve this year’s NBA championship.

Doing it again next year is a completely different ball game.

With Kevin Durant and Kyrie taking a full year off.

With Curry, Thompson, and the Warriors taking a year off and with young talented teams sprouting up all over the league, it is going to be hard to go back to back.

With LeBron and Anthony Davis working hard all playoffs and only getting minimal time to rest, the Lakers are in an unenviable position to be ready for the new season and to win back to back.

People can love him or hate him but Russell Westbrook on the Los Angeles Lakers gives the purple and gold a significantly better chance at winning another ring than the team the Lakers currently have constructed.

The Los Angeles Lakers have 5 major needs this off-season having reviewed what they did last season.

  • Need for a 3rd scorer
  • Need for a Secondary playmaker
  • 3-point shooting
  • Free-throw percentage
  • Driving to the rim

Russell Westbrook answers four out of five of the Los Angeles Laker’s biggest needs, in one player!!

The purple and gold can bring in players  Kyle Korver, Serge Ibaka, or Danilo Gallinari to help with the 3-point percentages and fill the end of the bench with veterans chasing rings.

With LeBron James on the Los Angeles Lakers, the purple and gold have a championship window that they should be taking full advantage of.

Westbrook on the Lakers alongside LeBron James and Anthony Davis extends that window and sets the Lakers up perfectly for a championship run right until LeBron’s contract is done and allows the Lakers to clear the books and give Anthony Davis cap space to add whoever he wants when LeBron and Westbrook are off the books.

Next. Which Laker will be the hardest to replace?. dark

This is a perfect chance for the Lakers to win for the next few years and Russell Westbrook could help them do that.
