Dennis Schröder is on the move to the Los Angeles Lakers.

Fans of the Los Angeles Lakers were enjoying a leisurely Sunday morning. Quiet and uneventful.

When all of a sudden a Woj Bomb drops and the NBA off-season truly kicks into life for the 1st time since the Lakers won the Championship.

According to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, the Los Angeles Lakers and Oklahoma City Thunder were deep in negotiations with each other in regards to sending Dennis Schröder to the Los Angeles Lakers in a package that includes the 28th overall pick in the 2020 NBA draft to the Thunder.

That deal has now been completed and Dennis Schröder is now a Los Angeles Laker.

With the league season due to start next month, this is an exciting development for the purple and gold a week before NBA Free Agency begins.

This gives the Lakers a huge boost with the NBA season coming next month as they will have younger help in the form of Dennis Schröder to relieve some pressure.

With the vast majority of teams that were not in the bubble such as the Golden State Warriors, they will have over 200+days off between their seasons ending and the start of the new season while the Miami Heat and Los Angeles Lakers will have less than 80 days to rest, compose themselves and go in search of another title.

This has the potential to be an ideal move for the Los Angeles Lakers as they could use some added help in order to allow the likes of LeBron James and Anthony Davis to get further rest even whilst the season has started.

A player of Dennis Schröder’s caliber does not become available every day and especially not for a price that would be considered cents on the dollar.

So what is the framework of the deal for Dennis Schröder?

A great trade for both the Los Angeles Lakers and the Oklahoma City Thunder.

The Los Angeles Lakers and LeBron James especially need help.

Fans of the purple and gold cannot expect LeBron James to have another season like he just had less than 80 days after his season has ended.

The Lakers are running the risk of LeBron getting injured and for fans of the purple and gold and fans of the NBA in general, that is not something that anyone wants to see happening.

If LeBron can get help in the form of Dennis Schröder then the Lakers are right to send Green and the 28th pick in this year’s draft.

With Danny Green a free agent at the end of the 2020-21 NBA season, this allows for Oklahoma to shed Green’s.

They also get a pick to add to their war chest of picks over the next 5 years to rebuild the Thunder team

The Lakers could have Anthony Davis, LeBron James, and Dennis Schröder for the next few years competing for rings.

So how could Dennis Schröder help the Los Angeles Lakers?

Here are 4 ways he would be an asset for the purple and gold.
