The Los Angeles Lakers are going to have to pay Kyle Kuzma to keep him around past next season.

By all accounts, Los Angeles Lakers GM Rob Pelinka has had a fantastic offseason, re-signing key pieces and adding additional firepower to the roster of the defending champs.

However, amidst the flurry of offseason moves, the contract status of one Laker, in particular, has fallen under the radar: Kyle Kuzma.

As per Silver Screen and Roll’s Harrison Faigen:

Next offseason, a key objective of the Lakers front office appears to be negotiating a contract extension with Kuzma.

As thankful as I and many other Lakers’ fans are for his contributions towards a title, I think that the front office should tread carefully when weighing up whether it’s worth inking Kuz to an extension.
