Should Los Angeles Lakers point guard Alex Caruso be in the starting lineup to start the 2020-21 NBA season?

With all that is currently going on with the world with COVID-19 still running rampant, the Los Angeles Lakers have had — comparatively — a good couple of months.

After the longest season in NBA history, the purple and gold were able to take home a record-tying 17th NBA Championship back to Los Angeles to make it 17 apiece between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Boston Celtics.

And just recently the Los Angeles Lakers have had an objectively excellent offseason.

The Lakers were able to make a trade that landed them 6th man of the year runner-up and former Oklahoma City Thunder point guard Dennis Schröder.

A great way to start the off-season, but, the Lakers weren’t done.

In free agency, vice president of basketball operations and general manager Rob Pelinka was able to pull off one of the best free agency hauls in recent Laker history with a glut of players who will make immediate contributions to an already stacked roster.

The Los Angeles Lakers were able to sign:

  • Montrezl Harrell
  • Wesley Matthews
  • Marc Gasol

They were also able to keep shooting guard Kentavious Caldwell-Pope.

With some additional roster spots available on the roster, it is going to be interesting to see what Pelinka and co. do to round out the roster.

With so many new additions to the Lakers, it begs the question, who will be starting for the purple and gold next season?

Will Dennis Schröder step into that spot or will a longer-tenured Laker step into the spot and make it his own.

Here are 3 reasons why Alex Caruso should be in the Los Angeles Laker’s starting line-up.#
