4. Montrezl Harrell

Montrezl Harrell is a good example of a player that got so overrated that he is now underrated. Harrell won the Sixth Man of the Year award last season and Clipper fans touted him as an absolute killer.

He then got torched in the NBA Playoffs but Nikola Jokic. Now, Montrezl Harrell is not an elite defensive player, but he certainly is not a terrible defender. He got torched by a generational big man as he was put in a terrible situation to succeed by his head coach.

Harrell is a better defender than the NBA Playoffs suggest and I have all the faith in the world that Frank Vogel will maximize him. As Lake Show Life Podcast co-host Daniel Preciado said, if Vogel can make Kyle Kuzma better on defense then Harrell should be just fine.

Offensively he is a bully. The Lakers bench is much more dynamic now than it was last season and the team is going to be able to not just hold onto leads with the bench but extend them as well.

Harrell was a great value signing and I do think that he improves defensively on the Lakers, especially if he is playing alongside another great defensive big like Anthony Davis or Marc Gasol that can take some of the burden off of him.
