There has been no hurry between the Los Angeles Lakers and Anthony Davis on an extension. We examine his four options.

The Los Angeles Lakers have used this offseason to help build their roster with depth. They have replaced guys like Rajon Rondo, Dwight Howard, Danny Green and JaVale McGee with Dennis Schröder, Marc Gasol, Montrezl Harrell and Wesley Matthews. They have arguably gotten much better in all areas.

They have two roster spots still open that they could choose to fill with a ball-handler and a backup big. Both have good value left on the market for guys that could be looking at veteran minimum deals. The Lakers are a desirable landing spot as well living in sunny California.

The big question that still remains for the team as they look to put the final touches on this offseason is Anthony Davis. Granted it’s nothing bad, Davis is going to resign with Los Angeles. But the length of the deal at this time remains to be seen.

Davis has many different options, he can align in four different ways depending on how the Lakers feel. That comes with how he feels long-term or how he feels betting on himself and the Lakers’ chances at another star.

Davis will continue playing at a high level. He is one of the best players in basketball, but injuries do happen and can derail things. NBA most contracts, so if you get hurt you still get your money, it is a luxury the league has over the NFL.

We examine the four different options Davis has this offseason with an extension. There are benefits to each do them and also negatives. So we will take a look at each.
