Anthony Davis is going to have an incredible season for the Los Angeles Lakers.

The Los Angeles Lakers traded for Anthony Davis in the summer of 2019 and it instantly panned out as the Lakers won championship no. 17 in what was a wild and crazy 2019-20 season.

Now, after the shortest offseason in American sports history, the Lakers are back in training camp and gearing up (with some new faces) to defend their throne and surpass the Boston Celtics in franchise championships.

Rob Pelinka did an excellent job of improving an already title-worthy roster by replacing outbound players with legitimate improvements. Then, he put the perfect bow on the offseason by extending LeBron James for an extra two seasons and signing Anthony Davis to a five-year deal.

Bringing back AD always felt like a foregone conclusion but the length of the deal was surprising. While AD can get out of his contract year four, there were reasonable expectations that he would sign a shorter deal to either help lure Giannis Antetokounmpo to LA or to sign an even bigger extension after year 10.

AD may have already gotten his big pay day but that is not going to result in him letting his foot off the gas. I would expect big things out of Anthony Davis this season. Here are three bold predictions for the All-NBA big man in his second year in LA.
