Predicting the results of the Los Angeles Lakers’ five December games
By Jason Reed
Dallas Mavericks at Los Angeles Lakers, December 25: Win
The Los Angeles Lakers host Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks on Christmas Day in what is sure to be a very entertaining matchup. Luka was incredible last season and got even better in the NBA bubble and is a prime candidate to win the MVP award this season.
The Lakers and Mavericks delivered one of the most entertaining games of the season early last season in an overtime thriller in which Danny Green hit the game-saving three at the end of regulation to send the Lakers to overtime.
I think NBA fans will get another instant classic with this one with LeBron James trading blows with Luka Doncic.
At the end of the day, though, the Mavericks lack the depth that the Lakers have and it will ironically be the bench that goes on the biggest runs for the Lakers and swings this game.
Minnesota Timberwolves at Los Angeles Lakers, December 27: Win
The Minnesota Timberwolves are going to be one of the most interesting teams to watch next season. The tandem of Karl-Anthony Towns and D’Angelo Russell is one of the best young tandems in the league and they added first overall pick, Anthony Edwards, to the mix.
However, at the end of the day, the Timberwolves are still a young team that lacks the overall depth that a championship team has. This game will wind up being a battle between Anthony Davis and KAT, with AD and the Lakers coming out on top in a nail-biter.
