There are three trends Los Angeles Lakers fans should keep an eye on as the preseason progresses.

The Los Angeles Lakers made history two months ago by winning their 17th NBA Championship, matching the Boston Celtics for most franchise titles in the NBA.

On December 1st, the Lakers made history again by starting training camp less than two months after they beat the Miami Heat in the NBA Finals, proffering the Purple and Gold with the shortest offseason every by an NBA organization.

The Lakers’ long march towards a championship in conjunction with the NBA’s truncated offseason means LeBron James and Anthony Davis will see little playing time during the preseason.

The NBA’s shortened training camp and a decreased slate of preseason games might not matter to the Lakers’ amazing duo, but it will impact the rest of the players up and down the roster.

New members of the squad like Dennis Schröder and Montrezl Harrell will need to find chemistry with each other. At the same time, returning Lakers players such as Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Alex Caruso, and Kyle Kuzma will be fighting for a starting gig and playing time.

Next, we’ll examine three crucial trends that could emerge during the preseason.
