The Los Angeles Lakers are officially back in action.

The Los Angeles Lakers barely had time to enjoy their championship fun coming back two months to the day to play the Clippers. Lake Show Life is back in the saddle with Lake Show Life Lessons, the only Lakers post game report with in-depth analysis and highlights.

For the most part, the opening night of preseason for the NBA was basically marketing and promotion 101. The powers that be thought the drama of the Los Angeles Lakers against the Los Angeles Clippers would be the best way to announce the return of the upcoming season.

Basically this game showed how much things can change in a year. Remember the storylines around December of 2019?

  • LeBron James is washed and has lost a step. Not only that, he lost the “Best player in the world” title to Kawhi Leonard.
  • The Los Angeles Lakers lost Kawhi Leonard to the Clippers. Couple that with the addition of Paul George, it added fuel to the fire of Rob Pelinka’s unqualified label.
  • The Clippers smoked the Lakers on opening night where LeBron James and Anthony Davis disappeared in the 4th quarter. Who was the best player on the floor that night? Fun fact: Danny Green.
  • The Clippers are loaded on the bench with Lou Williams and Montrezl Harrell.
  • Then the Clippers beat the Lakers AGAIN on Christmas Day. LeBron James lost the ball being defended by Patrick Beverley.

Then 2020 came along. Let’s just ignore all of the other issues and just stick to basketball shall we? The NBA world just knew that the showdown between the two L.A. teams would dominate the sports world.

Well, the Lakers did their part and showed up. The Clippers choked a 3-1 lead and watched as their rivals take home yet another NBA title.

The Lakers won the game 87-81 in a meaningless preseason game that was so bad overall, only the most hardened fan watched the whole game. To be totally honest, the real fun was on social media looking at all of the insults hurled at the Clippers fanbase for losing yet another game without it’s stars. Here’s the best one.

The Los Angeles Lakers have a mission this preseason. Anthony Davis and LeBron James will be healthy for opening night on December 22nd. They did not play in this game and it would be a total shock to Lakers Nation if they play on Sunday.  Marc Gasol, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope and Markieff Morris also took the night off while the Clippers played their rotation that included Paul George and Kawhi Leonard in the starting lineup.

After watching this contest, Lake Show Life would like to get these storylines out early for the 2020-21 season.

  • The Los Angeles Lakers are in no danger of losing to the Clippers four times in a week in a seven game playoff series.
  • Paul George was the best player on the floor for the Clippers. Who cares? Have you seen this after the second round of the playoffs?
  • Kawhi Leonard looked a little out of shape. Let’s just say he was a little less muscular than in past seasons.
  • Let’s just say Rob Pelinka STOLE the heart and soul of the Los Angeles Clippers in Montrezl Harrell. But Lake Show Life already told you that right?
  • Lakers Rumors: Rob Pelinka’s genius shown in Montrezl Harrell deal

The story of this game was hard…as in bricks. Both teams shot poorly (35.7 percent apiece and the 3 point percentages were worse!). For the recap check out the story here.
