What are the three keys for the Los Angeles Lakers against the Phoenix Suns?

The Los Angeles Lakers had an amazing performance against the Los Angeles Clippers in their second preseason tilt. Now it’s on to the Phoenix Suns!

As expected, LeBron James and Anthony Davis did not play in either Clippers preseason tilt. But they are scheduled to play the first half on Wednesday. I am excited to see LeBron and AD play alongside new acquisitions Montrezl Harrell, Marc Gasol, Wesley Matthews, and Dennis Schroder.

And those new acquisitions shined as bright as the Lakers’ white jerseys. While Matthews and Schroder sat out in the second game, Gasol revolutionized the Lakers’ offense with his elite passing acumen. Harrell gave the Clippers so many receipts that Clippers owner Steve Ballmer went to the NBA store to try to take back the decision to not re-sign him.

Kyle Kuzma scored 25 points, secured 6 rebounds, and dished out 4 assists. Kuzma is the most polarizing Lakers player in recent memory. Hopefully, he can maintain a high level of play coming off the bench this season. If he does, fans are no longer going to want to trade Kuzma for a bag of Sun Chips and a six-pack of Diet Coke.

But the player who shined the brightest was Talen Horton-Tucker. THT enveloped the Clippers on defense with his superior length and excellent positioning. On offense, his 33 points outscored both Paul George (9 points) and Kawhi Leonard (11 points) combined. He did not force any shots nor did he show any hesitation.

Now how will THT factor into tonight’s game?

For those who have not read my Kevin’s Keys series, thank you for taking the time to read my work. I greatly appreciate it. I strive to provide as much insight as possible as to what happens on the court.
