1. Is Kyle Kuzma finally primed to break out?

Kyle Kuzma was expected to be the third scoring option for the Los Angeles Lakers last season. While he technically was as he averaged the third-most points per game on the team, he was not the impactful player off the bench and in the closing lineup that Laker fans were hoping for.

In fact, his scoring actually went down by about a third from his averages over the first two seasons. He was not a consistent enough presence, especially shooting the basketball and he is a below-average defender, although he made improvements and head coach Frank Vogel made the most of his defensive abilities.

Kuzma has been good in these preseason games and is showing really promising signs for this season. Granted, LeBron James and Anthony Davis have only played one half in three games, which naturally gives Kuzma more of a spotlight to shine.

But at the end of the day, Kuzma has been a solid scoring option in this game and you can see noticeable improvements not just in his game but his moxie on the court.

Again, it is such a small sample size and there were a handful of games last year in which Kuzma went off. But I will say, I have more confidence in Kuzma today than I did 10 days ago.
