Anthony Davis took a shot in the mouth early in the game. Mostly, the Mavericks were the one getting all of the shots.

Anthony Davis finished the game with 28 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists and 2 steals. What’s scary was this could have been a monster game for AD. He was rolling early in the first half before he took an elbow in the mouth from Trey Burke.

It could have been a lot worse. Reportedly Kawhi Leonard was knocked out of his game in the fourth quarter after getting an elbow from Serge Ibaka against the Nuggets.

Lake Show Life sends a speedy recovery to both players. They both took pretty good shots.

Anthony Davis’ energy level tends to follow LeBron James’. That is something that needs to change going forward. AD almost matched opening night’s scoring output by halfway through the second quarter (16 points). If not for that Trey Burke shot in the mouth, he could have easily scored 30 points by the end of the third quarter.

The Los Angeles Lakers franchise needs to find the balance with load management with Anthony Davis and LeBron. Should there be minutes restrictions? Sure. Should they both rest a game here and there? Why not. Nobody can knock the wear and tear on these two after the longest NBA season in history. But the in-game coasting can get the Lakers in trouble. Ask the Clippers how that works.

This is a blueprint of how the Lakers can manage the minutes of their stars. Bring energy, blow opponents off the floor with plays like these.
