The Los Angeles Lakers had some memorable moments in 2020.

The Lake Show is officially back on air! Many of us may want to forget 2020, but the Los Angeles Lakers gave us some moments to remember.

Before the year ends, let’s take one last look at the Lakers’ top five moments of the year.

5. The Los Angeles Lakers clinch their first playoff berth in 7 years

Right before COVID-19 ravaged the world and halted sports in a way we’ve never seen, the Lakers were the toast of the NBA. This may feel like a lifetime ago, but the Lakers beat the two championship favorites to cement themselves as the league’s best team.

On Friday, March 6th and Sunday, March 8th respectively, the Lakers beat the Milwaukee Bucks and the Los Angeles Clippers to clinch their first playoff appearance since Kobe and Dwight Howard teamed up for a season. This time around they had their new superstar duo of LeBron James, Anthony Davis and in a reduced role… Dwight Howard.

LeBron’s defense had been called into question, particularly when facing great players such as Kawhi Leonard. Some of his critics had even questioned whether he was beginning to back down to the challenge of defending these great players.

However, on this weekend LeBron stepped up against the reigning MVP in Giannis Antetokounmpo and reigning Finals MVP Kawhi Leonard as he defended them with ferocity on every play.

Bron put up a virtuoso performance against Giannis’s Bucks with 38 points, eight rebounds and eight assists while putting up a 27 point, nine-rebound, seven assist game against Kawhi’s Clippers.

Anthony Davis put up a pair of 30 point games, while the Lakers finally reached the top of the Western Conference for the first time in nearly a decade. MVP chatter began to rise for LeBron and people finally started to believe in how special this Lakers team and their new superstar duo was.
