These Los Angeles Lakers’ trade ideas will absolutely not happen.

The Los Angeles Lakers have not enjoyed the hottest start to the 2020-21 season, which honestly should have been expected. The Lakers are coming off of the shortest offseason in American sports history and are trying to integrate several new pieces into the rotation.

With such a limited preseason and training camp the Lakers (as did the rest of the league) did not get as much of a chance to gel together. And still, a disappointing start for the Lakers is a 6-3 record. That is not bad at all.

Granted, the Lakers have had a fairly easy go at things this season. Their six wins are against the San Antonio Spurs (who they have also lost to), Memphis Grizzlies (without Ja Morant and Jaren Jackson), Minnesota Timberwolves and the Dallas Mavericks. The Mavericks are good, the other teams not so much.

And in those games, the Lakers looked sluggish at times. It is clear that this newly-constructed roster is still a work in progress, hence why the team dropped games to the Spurs, Portland Trail Blazers and Los Angeles Clippers.

This start has already kickstarted the old trade machine, with different outlets (and Laker fans on social media) proposing trade ideas that could help the team if these trends continue.

However, as you know, this is merely speculation at this point and there are more trade rumors that don’t come to fruition than those that actually do.

Let’s debunk some that we have seen following this slowish start.
