Could the Los Angeles Lakers bring back one of the young core by trading Alfonzo McKinnie?

No, I don’t mean Julius Randle, Jordan Clarkson, D’Angelo Russell, Brandon Ingram, Thomas Bryant, Lonzo Ball, or Josh Hart.

For now, that ship has sailed on the Los Angeles Lakers bringing back these players.

On a separate note, it is fantastic to see how well Julius Randle is playing with the New York Knicks. Coming back from a leg break in his rookie season to now being a potential All-Star this season is fantastic and Lakers nation is thrilled for Julius.

During the difficult times over the last 5 plus years, the one area of pride the purple and gold took in what was an otherwise terrible period was their ability to draft really well.

As fans of the purple and gold, Lakers nation expects results immediately, and for young prospects that can be daunting.

We are now seeing these players blossom on other squads. With Randle being the latest in a line of players to ball out.

So with so few draft picks and potentially limited cap space over the next few years, what can the purple and gold do to build depth, get better and bring in potentially impactful players?

One route the purple and gold could take is chasing after former Lakers who they still believe have the potential to get better and who is not going to cost them too much. Another route is chasing a veteran minimum player who could be maximized more in LA.

With that being said, here are 3 players that the Los Angeles Lakers should try and acquire by trading Alfonzo McKinnie, including two former Lakers.
