Despite playing for the Los Angeles Lakers, these 3 players have become very underappreciated in the NBA.

The Los Angeles Lakers are the most prestigious and iconic team in the NBA. The New York Knicks are the only team worth more than the Lakers but they have been good in 30 years. The Boston Celtics are the only team with the titles that the Lakers have, but have only won one in the last 30 years.

This creates a massive spotlight on any player that plays on the Lakers — a spotlight that shines even brighter due to the fact that they are the title favorites and the biggest athlete in America, LeBron James, is leading the team.

This can lead to certain players getting overrated. A perfect example of this (and sorry for any fans of his out there) is Kyle Kuzma. Kuzma has been touted as this legitimate third scoring option for two years and fans have been waiting for him to breakout.

He probably is not going to break out at the end of the day and if he was on the Detroit Pistons it would be a completely different story.

Ironically enough, there are players on the Los Angeles Lakers who are somehow still underappreciated. Whatever the reason is, these three players do not get the love that they deserve.

This article was inspired by a recent article from Bleacher Report’s Dan Favale, who ranked the 10 most underappreciated players in the league. None were Lakers, so we thought we would spin the idea as there are Lakers that are underappreciated.
