This past week, all the talk in the basketball world has been about the Brooklyn Nets and the mega-trade that landed them disgruntled superstar James Harden.
To be fair I can see why there’s a palpable buzz in the air because regardless of whether this Nets team is successful, seeing whether the three best isolation players in the world can work on the same roster will be must-watch TV.
However, somewhere lost amongst all the Nets-centric chatter is the dominance of the 2020-21 Los Angeles Lakers, who at 11-3, are the proud owners of the best record in the NBA at the time of writing.
It’s clear to anyone with a pair of eyes that this iteration of the Lakers is a very good basketball team. However, I’ll take this observation one step further and claim that this year’s team is actually stronger than last year’s championship-winning team.
