Bring in a Veteran Wing via the Buyout Market

Lakers fans have been wanting it for many years and they have been flirting with it for years but after over a decade apart.

It is time to bring Trevor Ariza home.

To a certain extent, it is odd the affinity that fans of the purple and gold have for Trevor Ariza.

He was a member of the Los Angeles Lakers for only 2 seasons. He has been traded a total of 10 times in his NBA career (An NBA record). He has been with many different teams and has not been with the Lakers since the 2008-09 season where he won a championship alongside Kobe Bryant and Pau Gasol.

But Trevor, to fans of the purple and gold, will always be a Laker. Once a Laker, always a Laker.

Going back to the 2009-10 season, there was uproar when it was announced that the Lakers would be signing Ron Artest and allowing Trevor Ariza to leave. While fans loved and continue to love MWP, it was a bitter pill to swallow.

Now might be the time for Ariza to come back to LA and once again help the purple and gold get another ring.

It would be unfair for Lakersnation to expect the same level of play they received from Ariza over a decade ago but they would be getting a well-rounded 3 and D veteran who knows how to win and can guard multiple positions.

Ariza would not be expected to play big minutes. His job would be to allow LeBron James to take a small step back in terms of overall effort and exertion and for Ariza to come in and provide minutes to lighten the load.

Ariza, who is now a member of the Oklahoma City Thunder has decided to stay away from the team in hopes of finding a buyout that would allow for him to sign for an organization that actually wants and appreciates his skills and services.

The Los Angeles Lakers would very much give Ariza and great new home.
