Los Angeles Lakers: 4 Lessons in a survival of the Boston Celtics!
By Ronald Agers
Montrezl Harrell led a huge performance from the Los Angeles Lakers bench!
Fun fact: LeBron James and Anthony Davis will get the headlines, but bottom line, if the Los Angeles Lakers bench don’t outplay the Boston bench, the Lakers lose.
Montrezl Harrell:
Montrezl Harrell was really struggling in the last couple of outings. When Marc Gasol was a nonfactor with fouls, he was forced to try and lean on Joel Embiid which led him to a night of frustration and zero points.
Then he went to Detroit and let his frustrations get the best of him by a rookie in Isaiah Stewart. Instead of playing with his usual energy and focus, Harrell spent the night missing layups and screaming at referees. Well, the focus and toughness came back in Boston.
Montrezl hit all four shots in the first half on his way to 16 points (8-10 shooting!), 5 rebounds (3 offensive!) and 3 blocks. His 2 steals were important as well leading to easy points.
Kyle Kuzma:
Look who’s messed around and found themselves a 3 point shot! Kyle Kuzma shot very well scoring 11 points (4-8 shooting! 3-7 from distance!), with 6 rebounds. It’s good that he broke that bad habit of snapping his arms down and holds his release on the shot. It’s even better that he didn’t look out of rhythm when Anthony Davis returned to the lineup.
Talen Horton-Tucker:
THT continued his progress filling up the box score with 6 points, 4 rebounds, and 2 assists.
Lake Show Life writer, Zane Smith had a positive feature on THT before the game. To actually think some reader ACTUALLY compared this guy to an AAU product with Kobe comparisons to back it up…
It’s going to be interesting to hear the story behind Markieff Morris and Wesley Matthews DNP-CDs. Trying to read Frank Vogel’s rotation methods will lead to your own mental madness (It took until the second round of the playoffs last year to catch on!), so Lake Show Life recommends going along for the ride.
The last lesson shows a potential need the Los Angeles Lakers will need later on in the season. Most readers think they know, but read on anyway!
