How much help do the Los Angeles Lakers need to repeat?

It is still early in the season and so far things have looked good for the Los Angeles Lakers as they are 15-6, but perhaps they may need another piece to the puzzle in order for them to repeat this season. Perhaps they need one or two more integral pieces that help to get them over the hump or give them a little bit extra especially over rival teams such as the LA Clippers.

Who would the Lakers get and what do they need exactly? I think there are a few players out there that could come in and help be part of this already deep roster.

It would have to be players that yearn to be part of a great organization and yearn to win championships and be victorious as a team over personal glory.

Players that could help the Los Angeles Lakers

Derrick Rose is a player that comes to mind. Remember what he was like when he was younger and he hadn’t suffered those horrid injuries? He was a high flying, dangerous guard. Rose is still a very talented player but has become more of a role player with the Detroit Pistons.

He seems to be a guy who is ready to go to the next level with an organization and help contribute for a team that can win now. I could see him in the purple and gold jersey. Rose is very cerebral and could be an asset.

Enes Kanter is another name that comes to mind. I love his athletic ability and his hustle. He plays with all his heart and possesses a great ability to rebound. That is an area that the Lakers could use a boost in because let’s face it, they are not getting it from starting center Marc Gasol. His scoring days are long gone.

Carmelo Anthony could be another player. I know, what some are thinking right now but look at it like this, the Trailblazers aren’t looking as great as we thought they would be. They may have missed their window to win it all and Anthony is 37. He had a very good season last year and he has always yearned for a chance to win a championship. Plus, he is friends with Lebron.

DeMar DeRozan has long been a talented player. The Spurs never seem to be upgrading and never seem to be not competing. Therefore, why wouldn’t San Antonio trade him? After all, there was talk that the Lakers were trying to attract him in the offseason. It may be a perfect time come the trade deadline.

Doug McDermott is an underrated player who is a great three-point shooter. His contributions to the Indiana Pacers have helped them very much. The Lakers don’t have a legit three-point shooting sniper like McDermott. Call him a specialist if you want, but his game is mostly beyond the arc. He would add another dimension to the Lakers.

One thing these five payers all have in common is that they will all be free agents next season so the time may be correct for them to be traded come the deadline. It would be interesting to see the Lakers add one or two of these guys to their roster. Time will tell.
