It has always been that when a team plays outstanding at home, they are always dangerous. For home is where the heart is and your home record always speaks volumes. What about the road record?

That same team that is deadly at home, going across the country to other cities. Are they as good at home as they are on the road? Well, the Los Angeles Lakers sure are. They are road warriors and this is not the first time.

Last season, the Lakers had an amazing 27-9 record on the road. The Toronto Raptors were the only other team to have the same road record. Now, while some of those games were played in the bubble because of Covid, the majority of those games were played in other cities. We all know how last season ended. (Cue Queen’s “We Are The Champions”.)

The Los Angeles Lakers road resume:

So far this season, the Lakers are 12-2 on the road. They just came off a brutal seven-game road trip in which they went 5-2 against some of the NBA’s elite teams such as the Boston Celtics, Philadelphia 76ers, and the Milwaukee Bucks. There is no doubt that this team can win on the road and not just against weaker squads.

The key for any great team in the regular season is not just to be victorious at home but on the road as well. The Lakers are only 4-4 at home this season. They have five games coming up that are all at home.

They will face the Oklahoma City Thunder twice, the Pistons, Nuggets, and the Memphis Grizzlies. All of these games happen two days apart from each other so that one day of rest will help many, especially LeBron James, who has played lights out so far this season but what else is new?

The majority of the rest of the games for this shortened season will be at home for the Lakers. That is a good thing in the long run for them as they look to improve their record at home as well as their overall record.

The rival Los Angeles Clippers are tied with the Lakers in the standings while the Utah Jazz stand in front of them with a half-game lead in the Western Conference. The Lakers and Jazz square off for the first time this season on February 24.

When it comes to the Clippers, well…we know they will meet again.
