Make no mistake, LeBron James is by far the best player in the league this season.

I know it’s still somewhat early in the NBA season but things just seem to be in motion and they are not changing anytime soon. One of those things is that the Los Angeles Lakers are the best team in the NBA, and the other is that LeBron James is the MVP.

It’s not even close when it comes to him and the many other wonderful players in the league as there is a huge difference between him and them.

Ok, I know what some are going to say. LeBron isn’t leading the league in scoring right? So what? Since when does that determine who the best player in the league is? It is an important statistic of course but it is not everything.

James isn’t the leading scorer. In fact, he is fourteenth in scoring as he is averaging 25.1 points per game. He is also averaging 7.8 rebounds per game and 7.7 assists per game.

There will always be a lot of haters, and naysayers that will only talk about how his minutes are down this season more than they have been and that his points per game average are a bit low as compared to others in the league. So what?

I tend to always focus on the positive and go with what I see and from my point of view, LeBron has never looked better. Physically, mentally, and competitively, he is at the top. In fact, his game seems to be improving. His three-point shot is looking the best that I have ever seen as he is shooting 40.9% from three-point land.

This is also one of the times that I have seen LeBron make others around him better. He’s challenging guys around him and giving them something to live up to and having them go out every night and have to prove themselves to the league that they are the best and no one is going to defeat them.

This wasn’t always the case perhaps but we see it now. There is no doubt that he is on a different level with everything and he has one goal in mind and that is to repeat as world champions.

Sure there are many great players in the league, but none of them are even close to him. There is much talk about the 76ers center Joel Embid as he is having a wonderful year. Damian Lillard, Steph Curry, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Luka Doncic, are all great for sure but guess what?

None of them are as valuable as a complete player as LeBron James is right now.

They might be younger, and they might be averaging more points per game, but LeBron James, at 36 years old, has yet to miss a game this season and is taking over the games when he has to. No other player even comes close to what he is doing this season.

At this point, I do not see anyone in this league playing at the level that he is. LeBron is dialed in and in the zone. I see players younger than him missing games, taking nights off for rest or injuries as he plows through all of that as he leads the Lakers back to the promised land where they belong. When this season is over, the purple and gold will have championship number 18.

James wants this MVP badly. He also wants his respect as he said so not too long ago… remember?
