The Lake Show Life Lessons staff had one request for the Los Angeles Lakers. Usually, we ask just for a win. These days we want the game held to 48 minutes. This Lessons post-game report is not for casuals that watch box scores. The Los Angeles Lakers have issues!

Lake Show Life breaks down what else happened in Lake Show Life Lessons! The only Los Angeles Lakers extended post-game report with in-depth analysis and highlights.

To the Los Angeles Lakers fans all over the world. Sing along with the Lake Show Life staff…

“All together now, sing along! What the world needs now…is NOT ANOTHER LAKERS OVERTIME GAME!”

Sigh…

While LeBron James literally put the Lake Show Life staff out of our misery hitting a huge 3 pointer to take care of Detroit on Saturday night, this shot just brought questions. The biggest question that will be asked for the next two days will be if the Lakers can beat a good team in 48 minutes.

This game was so similar, the last post-game could have been copied over with a couple of stat changes here and there, then the title and the score. Like seriously!

The Los Angeles Lakers instead continue to get in the NBA record books (For better or worse!) by being just the 7th team in NBA history to win three consecutive games that all went to overtime winning 114-113. The last team to do this was the Minnesota Timberwolves in January of 2007.

Forget the record the Lakers have at 20-6, right now this team stinks and even the most hardened Lakers casuals can’t debate this. Here’s our evidence…

  • The Oklahoma City Thunder ran out to a 20 point lead (43-23) early in the second quarter.
  • The Thunder played with an eight-man rotation (Again!).
  • They played without their best player Shai Gilgeous-Alexander.
  • The Lakers allowed yet another player that no one has ever heard of having a career night in Kenrich Williams…BY HALFTIME!

To say this team is playing with fire is a gross understatement. The fact that the Lakers forced overtime is more about the Thunder blowing this game than the Lakers winning it.

Like the previous game, the Lakers didn’t take their first lead of the game until late into the fourth quarter. After LeBron saved the day (Again!) the Lakers outscored the Thunder 9-8 and needed yet another big play from LeBron to get out with a win.

Regardless, the Lake Show have won their last six games, including four straight at home.

There will be comments blowing this analysis off with the tired “A win is a win!” statement. Okay, Brooklyn comes to town next Thursday. Try this level of play on them. If this squad can’t stop the Thunder’s offense with Al Horford and a bunch of 21-year-olds, let’s see how they hold up against James Harden, Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant.
