Los Angeles Lakers: 3 Lessons in blowout win over Golden State Warriors
By Ronald Agers
The Los Angeles Lakers welcomed Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors to the Staples Center for a primetime matchup on Sunday night. LeBron James led a very rude Lakers welcome to the Warriors as the Lakers jumped on Golden State early and often.
Lake Show Life breaks down what else happened in Lake Show Life Lessons! The only Los Angeles Lakers extended post-game report with in-depth analysis and highlights.
The Los Angeles Lakers was looking to start a winning streak over a Golden State Warriors team that sported their own three game surge. Folks, Lake Show Life Lessons is an analytical post-game report. There is no analysis for the beatdown the Lakers put on Golden State.
Bottom line, the game was over before LeBron James’ 3 pointer before halftime but this is one of the more stylish exclamation points you will ever see.
The Lakers had a 73-44 lead going into intermission. Is there really much more to say about how close this game really was?
In the second game of the Dennis Schroder era in the starting lineup, the Lakers ran over another opponent wearing the Golden State Warriors 117-91. The Lake Show jumped out to a 20 point lead with their highest scoring quarter of the season with 41. After that they used improved 3 point shooting and a parade to the free throw line to hemorrhage the lead to as much as 35 points. The team had a season high in rebounds with 60 and steals with 14.
The storyline of this game? There was no discussion of how tired LeBron James should be from being overworked. Every player on the roster got to play and the veterans spent most of the night laughing and joking around. It’s a huge difference from all of the drama that has gone on in the month of February that’s for sure.
The storyline for the Warriors? Stephen Curry said after the game Draymond Green offered a reminder to the rest of his teammates after exiting the game early with an injury via ESPN.
"“Draymond said it a little bit at halftime: We have to remember even when we’re playing well, we won three in a row, teams still want to beat us and beat us bad,” Curry said. “They still have a lot of memories from the last five, six years.”"
Okay, sure.
Lake Show Life would like to extend the warmest of welcomes to the newest Laker Damian Jones, who is trying to make this team playing a 10 day contract. If he continues to run the pick and roll finishing at the basket like this, he might make it to a second 10 day contract and a lot further.
Damian Jones played 8 minutes in this game. But man did he put in work while he was out there. Jones did not miss a shot (From the field or the line!) finishing with 8 points, 3 rebounds and 2 blocks. He seemed to hurt his back and left for the locker room. Lake Show Life will keep you up to date on Jones. What he brought to the game hasn’t been since Dwight Howard and JaVale McGee was in purple and gold.
