Los Angeles Lakers: 4 Lessons from last-second loss to Sacramento Kings
By Ronald Agers
The Los Angeles Lakers gave Montrezl Harrell minutes and a role where he could succeed!
Montrezl Harrell matched his season-high of 26 points and this time he wasn’t benched in crunch time. But let’s be clear here, Lake Show Life is happy that Harrell actually got some consistent minutes after Vogel’s rotation disaster against Phoenix that limited Trezl to 6 points in 19 minutes.
It’s no secret that Montrezl Harrell played hard and with energy in this game. He plays like this in every game. He scored baskets in bunches. That’s no secret because he always does.
Now it’s on the Lakers to put Trezl in a situation where he can be effective get quality production from their power forward. Simple concept right?
Reportedly there was a sit-down meeting and Trezl asked to come off the bench. If he keeps doing this, he can stay on the bench.

Cory Joseph had it rough every time he got caught in the paint thanks to Trezl. This put-back dunk was so nasty, Joseph was pushed out of bounds to get a running start down the floor. But this spin move that Harrell put on him had the staff of Lake Show Life screaming at the TV screen. Just look at Joseph with his hand up looking for help.
Montrezl Harrell put together a monster game of 26 points (13-22 shooting!), 13 rebounds (His 8 offensive rebounds are outstanding for an NBA game!), with an assist and a block. Here’s the important part. Harrell got 33 minutes on the floor.
There was one downside. Trezl has to leave the referees alone. Lake Show Life covered this in detail that berating the referees would eventually catch up with the Lakers. He ended up getting a technical foul for yelling “AND ONE!” after scoring a basket. It has to stop. Refereeing has been bad enough with Devin Booker being shown the door in the previous game and Donovan Mitchell of the Utah Jazz getting kicked out in a loss to the Sixers.
Kyle Kuzma returned to the lineup after a one-game absence with a heel contusion. He almost didn’t play and it wasn’t because of an injury. Read on to see what it was.
