Los Angeles Lakers: Reasons for and against signing Blake Griffin

Reasons for the Los Angeles Lakers signing Blake Griffin:
Blake Griffin could play much better with a contender
It is safe to say that the old Blake Griffin is gone and we will dive into that a bit deeper in the reasons against page. Regardless of how he is playing with Detroit right now, there is the possibility that he plays even better after joining a contender.
Actually playing for something can do a lot for an NBA player, especially one who has been stuck in a place that he did not sign to be in, which is a notoriously small market and has not sniffed contention since he arrived.
Again, we should not expect the best version of Griffin to return but we have even seen this with the Los Angeles Lakers. Nobody expected Dwight Howard to have the impact that he did but he accepted his role and was important for the Lakers last season and has carried that over to this season while being on another contender.
Getting an improvement for Markieff Morris is a team need
The Los Angeles Lakers have three primary needs at the All-Star break, one of which being an improvement for Markieff Morris. As the same position and player mold, Griffin would provide that opportunity to improve upon Morris, who has been really bad this season.
Forward is fairly deep on the Lakers but Griffin could still get 20 or so minutes per game and those minutes could increase if his productivity increases. Regardless, on a contender, we should be able to expect him to be better than Morris has been, which fills a team need.
