The Los Angeles Lakers are in a prime position to make a move at the deadline this season. At full strength, the Lakers are still the best team in the Western Conference. Every top team is going to look to improve to increase their chances of winning the NBA Championship.

The Los Angeles Lakers are no different. Rob Pelinka is going to look to make some sort of additions, especially with the other teams in the league also getting better.

The Brooklyn Nets are now a more formidable potential NBA Finals foe and are the one team in the league with more star power than the Lakers. The Philadelphia 76ers are much better than expected and would be a horrible matchup for the Lakers in the Finals.

The Utah Jazz and Phoenix Suns are much better than expected as well, giving the Lakers even more competition in the NBA Playoffs.

The Los Angeles Lakers are going to snag talent from bottom-tier NBA teams.

The worst teams in the league are the ones that are going to be sellers at the deadline. Our own Luca De Angelis already broke down three players from the worst teams in the Western Conference for the Lakers to pursue via trade.

Today, we are doing the same exercise but with the Eastern Conference — looking at one player from the Detroit Pistons, Orlando Magic and Cleveland Cavaliers.
