The Los Angeles Lakers need to add another center to the roster and there have been several players connected to the Lake Show before the NBA trade deadline. A new potential target has been added to the mix as the Lakers could be exploring a Myles Turner trade.

J. Michael of the Indianapolis Star reported that the Lakers are one of several teams interested in a Turner trade this season. According to the report, the Lakers join the New York Knicks, Los Angeles Clippers, Charlotte Hornets and New Orleans Pelicans as teams who have explored whether or not the Indiana Pacers would trade the big man.

It is not hard to see why the Los Angeles Lakers might be interested in Myles Turner. Turner is leading the league in blocks with 3.4 per game alongside 13.2 points and 6.6 rebounds. Los Angeles needs another center that can take some of the burden off of Marc Gasol and prevent a mismatch in the playoffs against someone such as Nikola Jokic or Joel Embiid.

Turner can do just that for the Los Angeles Lakers.

However, it is extremely unlikely that the Los Angeles Lakers would trade for Myles Turner.

While the Lakers have shown interest and while he is a great fit on paper, it seems extremely unlikely that Turner actually ends up in the purple and gold before the trade deadline.

In a perfect world, the Lakers could get Turner to fill the holes on the roster. Too bad this is not a perfect world. Here is why a Myles Turner trade is extremely unlikely for the Los Angeles Lakers.
