More Los Angeles Lakers rumors are growing as the trade deadline fast approaches. The newest rumors connects Kyle Lowry from the Toronto Raptors to the purple and gold.

This rumor is making me shake my head as I am very confused. Why would the Lakers need another point guard? Especially one who is 34 years old?

ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski said on the ‘Woj & Lowe: Trade Deadline Special’ that the Los Angeles Lakers should not be ruled out for Kyle Lowry.

Why the Kyle Lowry Los Angeles Lakers rumors make absolutely no sense.

With players like Alex Caruso and Dennis Schroder, the Lakers already have two legitimate point guards. Even if Lowry was to come in and play shooting guard let’s say for example, what good would that do exactly?

What kind of boost is that going to give this team. I don’t see it being a good move at all. High-paid players like Lowry would require the Lakers to send some high-profile players back to the Raptors. Honestly, he’s not worth giving up what the Lakers already have.

Look, Lowry is a talented player no doubt, but the Raptors have looked quite bad this season. Now, while I do not blame Lowry for their play, I don’t see him as being a missing piece for the Lakers. All that trade would be would be is another high-profile name added to a roster and that means another large salary taken on by management. It’s a lose-lose situation for the Lakers in the long run.

They are either better going with what they have right now, or seeking another move and this time for someone younger or perhaps not just one player but two. I would rather them go and seek two blue-collar players for one that is considered a star.

A trade such as the one for Lowry may also hurt the chemistry the Lakers have and are growing with Schroder and Kyle Kuzma, who has been playing well with all going on.

This is a move the Lakers should pass on, even though they could use some sort of injection to the team right now.

Kyle Lowry is not the answer.
