Yes, I did write a piece on Kyle Kuzma back in January where I questioned his ability, and heart. Being the objective and fair person I am, I just felt I had to write a piece about the great play Kuzma has turned in for the Los Angeles Lakers lately. Especially during the injuries to LeBron James and Anthony Davis.
We all know that Kyle Kuzma has always had the talent. He is one of those pure bread types of players that comes with so many different abilities. It’s quite rare these days, that we see such talent from young players.
Kuzma can shoot, go to the basket, move up and down the court, and jump. Many including myself, questioned him though. For at times we would see someone that we knew had all of this great ability inside of him, but for whatever reason, failed to show it consistently. Well, that has all changed.
Kyle Kuzma has helped rescue the Los Angeles Lakers.
During these past few games, we have seen a different Kyle Kuzma. One who not only scores but rebounds! It’s another aspect of his abilities that we can check off the list. Kuzma has been grabbing rebounds and at times has led the Los Angeles Lakers in rebounds per game.
This season, he is averaging 6.8 rebounds per game, which is the most of his career. He has also had eleven games of both double-digit points and rebounds this season.
This is an important time for Kuzma. It is helping him to learn to become a legitimate leader. After all, if he was the lone star on another team, he would be the guy that all were looking to in order to lead them to the promised land. This will help make him not only a better player, but a more cerebral being.
Kuzma would be a shooting star had he been on another team. There is no doubt that he would be in the top twenty in the scoring column as well as others. He is so valuable to the Lakers and we are seeing exactly why during this intense time where the injury bug has bitten badly.
Kyle Kuzma surely has stepped up his game to another level and become a threat that many teams have to worry about.
