The Los Angeles Lakers were supposed to lose this game. They were supposed to get blown out! Don’t even bother to show up! That’s why the NBA schedules games! The Lakers blew the Brooklyn Nets out and sent a message to the NBA contenders and anyone that thinks the lack of superstars means an easy night on the hardwood!

Lake Show Life breaks down what else happened in Lake Show Life Lessons! The only Los Angeles Lakers extended post-game report with in-depth analysis and highlights.

The NBA season can be long and tiring, but it’s games like this that make it all worth it. No matter what the experts say, this sport is unpredictable.

Take Brian Windhorst saying that the Los Angeles Lakers may not have the firepower to beat the Brooklyn Nets.

"“This is going to be a test of of history here because historically you are correct you have to be about a top 10 or 11 defensive team to be a NBA champion the record speaks for itself but we are playing in a season we are seeing historically off the charts offense. When in the postseason you can actually practice and game plan uh in between games will we see a return to normalcy? The Lakers better hope so…. You’re right their defense is spectacular but they’re but they can’t bring it every night offensively. I don’t think they can do it four out of seven times so they have to they’re going to have to hope that things return to what we normally see in the postseason because if they don’t this is set for the Nets to win it.”"

Sounded really good considering the Lakers were running out of healthy bodies.

  • LeBron James (right ankle sprain)
  • Anthony Davis (right calf strain)
  • Jared Dudley (right MCL tear)
  • Marc Gasol (left hamstring soreness)
  • Kyle Kuzma (left calf strain)
  • Wesley Matthews (right Achilles tightness)

But as the great Chris Berman would say…That’s why they play the games!

The Lakers showcased their buyout additions with Andre Drummond dominating the Nets inside and Ben McLemore bombing away from outside beating the Nets in a 126-101 upset victory.

The Lakers are now 5-6 since LeBron James got hurt and sport the best defense in the NBA over that span. Warning to the NBA…the Lakers are starting to figure everything out.

Frank Vogel will be in the Coach of the Year discussions and Phil Handy has done an amazing job with Andre Drummond since the big man was added. In the month of May, the level of play throughout the roster combined with LeBron and AD could mean back-to-back championships.
