It has been quite some time since we have seen Anthony Davis in action for the Los Angeles Lakers. Davis last played on Valentine’s Day and has been resting with an Achilles injury since. According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, AD is expected to return in the next 8-12 days (10-14 on the day of the initial reporting).

LeBron James will be returning from his high ankle sprain not far after. James was expected to miss another three weeks at the time of the report, putting the timeline at the beginning of May until Laker fans can see their star players in action once more.

The superstars returning is just half of the battle, though. There is no guarantee that either player is at full strength once they return, especially with such a small runway to ramp up for the NBA Playoffs.

Davis is coming off of the scariest type of injury to have. While it was not an Achilles tear, any Achilles injury can be troublesome. LeBron James is also 36. He defies age year after year, but can he after an ankle sprain and only nine games to ramp up for the NBA Playoffs?

The Los Angeles Lakers do not need to worry about Anthony Davis.

While it is possible that Davis is playing below par when he returns, it is unlikely that is the case. Davis was not playing up to his full ability before he got hurt but with plenty of time to rest and with the games really mattering, Davis is going to dominate.

Don’t believe us? There are two compelling reasons that make us so certain that Davis is going to dominate once more in no time.
