Things are looking up for the Los Angeles Lakers. Anthony Davis has been could play this Thursday and LeBron James should be returning not too long after. We all knew that the Lakers were going to make the playoffs regardless but it is about time that the fans get to see some playoff-caliber basketball.

When healthy, there is no debate that the Lakers are the favorites to represent the Western Conference Finals and depending on who you ask, the favorites to win the NBA Championship as well.

This season has been a drag, but the Lakers are reaching the light at the end of the tunnel.

While things are looking up in Tinseltown, the Lakers are still far from a perfect basketball team. While they will be favored against almost any opponent, the Lakers still have some holes.

Here are three things the Los Angeles Lakers need to improve to make a deep playoff run.

1. The Los Angeles Lakers need to improve the three-point shooting

The Los Angeles Lakers are not a high-volume three-point shooting and nor do they need to be. That is not the strength of the team and they proved last year that with their talent, they do not have to conform to the way the league plays.

The Lakers do not need to be the most efficient three-point shooting team in the league but they need to be better than they currently are. Right now, the Lakers are 20th in three-point percentage at 35.7%.

It would be nice to see the Lakers get that number slightly up. The team did win the NBA Championship in the playoffs last season while shooting 35.4% from beyond the arc. It is not the most pressing improvement (hence why it is first) but it is an improvement that will make the team better.
