2. The dynamic between Anthony Davis and Andre Drummond on the Los Angeles Lakers

There are two new players on the Los Angeles Lakers that were not present last time Anthony Davis played a game. Andre Drummond and Ben McLemore were both signed by the Lakers and the Drummond dynamic is going to be the really interesting one to watch.

McLemore is an off-ball shooter. His game does not really impact Anthony Davis as much as Drummond’s does.

Drummond is the new starting center on the Lakers and the hope is that he and Davis can start logging a significant number of minutes together. The two have no familiarity with playing with each other and that is something that they are going to have to quickly figure out for the sake of the NBA Playoffs.

The best-case scenario for this tandem is really exciting. The shot-blocking prowess of Davis and Drummond is going to make the Lakers one of the hardest teams to score in the paint against. Not only that, but the duo should dominate the glass when they are on the court.

Offensively, it will be interesting to see how they utilize Davis with Drummond. Drummond is much different from Marc Gasol, who was used more to space the floor of the offense. Drummond’s profile is much more like JaVale McGee and Dwight Howard, but he is a better scorer so he may need the ball more often.

Davis is not going to drop 30 in his return and Drummond will get his fair share of chances.
