Markieff Morris

Without question, the hardest player to include on this list.

Markieff Morris since day one has been everything you want from in a Lakers player. Hard-working, loyal, sacrifices his own personal numbers for the betterment of the team, and never complains about his minutes or touches.

That is incredibly rare for a player of his talents.

Kieff is beloved by all his teammates. He is what you call a pro’s pro. While the general NBA fan looks at Morris and sees a decent player, it is players within the league itself who know that Markieff Morris is low-key a really tough matchup.

Morris is physical, he can shoot from the outside, he can bang with you on the inside, he gets in your face and is tough, he will not be bullied and if you put your hands on him or any of his teammates he is going to let you know that he is there.

He is the type of teammate that every single team in the NBA needs.

He is one of the Laker’s many glue guys who make up the fabric of the team and allows for the team as a whole to remain close not just on the court but off the court also.

It is with a heavy heart that this probably will be Kieff’s last year with the purple and gold.

Markieff Morris sacrificed this offseason in order to stay with the Lakers in search of another championship ring.

While he still has a really solid chance to get another ring, he gave up a lot of money to stay with the Lakers this season. At the age of 31, after this season ends, it might be the right time for Morris to chase the bag one last time in order to secure his long-term financial future after his playing career is done.

While there is a chance he could secure the bag with the Lakers, the purple and gold simply have too many priority free agents that they will want to secure before they get around to Kieff and even then, money is so tight that they probably won’t have the money to pay him.

Markieff Morris has been a fan-favorite since he came to L.A. While we all probably hope that he remains on the Lakers on the cheap for years to come, it isn’t fair for him to not make larger money elsewhere when he is absolutely deserving of it.
